As college students (and human beings), money plays a large role in our lives. From budgeting groceries to school supplies to random trips to CVS where you end up buying more than you intended, money is always being spent. Another important time when necessary spending occurs is shopping for clothes. Whether it’s for retail therapy after a stressful week or simply because you are in the mood and just got paid, shopping is something that many of us wind up doing purposefully and occasionally by accident. Sometimes you’re just in the right store with the right sales at the right time.
Today’s Fashionista has done a wonderful job of balancing inexpensive finds with a designer accessory. She bought most of her outfit at stores that are very friendly to a college budget and she also has an investment piece: a Hermès belt.

How To: Isha’s simply classic outfit is definitely one worth recreating. Get your basics from stores such as Target, H&M, Zara or Forever 21. Keep in mind that just because the price tag is lower doesn’t mean the clothes have to look inexpensive. All of these stores offer some great pieces that might require some digging in order to find. Start off with these pure blue jeans from Urban Outfitters, which are actually affordable. Keep your top simple with a lightweight white V-neck from Zara. Incorporate some animal print in a pair of loafers like today’s Fashionista did. For your splurge piece, make it a goal to save up for a particular accessory that you’ve been lusting after! Whether it’s this vintage Hermès belt, an adorable kate spade cross-body bag or a Marc by Marc Jacobs watch, make sure that you love the accessory enough to get your money’s worth and do it justice.
