When it comes to denim and trendy maxis, we think of high-waisted denim shorts and long loosely-fit maxi dresses. As I was taking a casual stroll on the beach, I came across this stylish Fashionista who wound up catching me off guard with her unique dress!
This week’s Fashionista was rocking a unique summer maxi dress that consisted of the classic denim material for the top layer and a pattern of neutralized colors for the bottom portion. This Fashionista’s unique look shows us that we can always bring in multiple materials to our individual styles to spice it up. I mean who would have thought classic denim on a multiple patterned maxi dress would fit perfectly together! So remember, my main piece of advice to you aspiring Fashionistas is too always take risks in your everyday wear because you never know what charming outfit you will come across. Now keep reading to find more about this week’s Fashionista and her unique interests!

College Fashionista: What are you wearing today and where did you get everything from?
Irene Carrillo: I am wearing a long two-toned maxi dress I found at a boutique in Mexico and bejeweled gold sandals I got from Burlington Coat Factory.

IC: I love to rock the color of peach because it really brings out my skin color giving me that glow I adore!
How To: To re-create this Fashionista’s urbanized beachy look, start off by focusing on staying in the “neutral zone” and interlocking denim into your look. Try to find a maxi dress that has a unique two-toned pattern that contains a little bit of all neautral colors like this Fashionista’s dress. To add your own pop to your look, without making the look too over-bearing, grab your favorite denim jean jacket. Now that you have the main articles of your look put together, it’s time to accessorize my fellow Fashionistas! With this Fashionista’s look, you want to stay away from the necklaces and focus on bangles! Try adding white, gold and cream bangles staying in the neutral zone just like this Fashionista manages to do. To finish off your look, grab your favorite pair of gold sandals! Now you have it, an urbanized beachy look that is ready to hit the city streets and find some lively fun!
