This week’s Fashionista’s style marches to the funky beat of her favorite music. As a communication designs major, her style is the perfect product of her favorite artists, both graphic and musical. This Fashionista can teach us a chic lesson in finding fashion inspiration from an unlikely source.
Name: Ingrid Chang
Major: Communication Design
CollegeFashionista: First off, where are your boots from?
Ingrid Chang: Topshop.
CF: If you had to pick a single store to shop at for the rest of your life, which would it be?
IC: Definitely ASOS, I have so much stuff from there it’s a joke.
CF: Where do you find your style inspiration?
IC: I really love the blog The Sartorialist, and I also am usually inspired by music and movies from different eras.
CF: How does music inspire you? Do you have a go-to style stalk artist?
IC: Even though I don’t dress up everyday, I love different artists’ stage costumes. I also have always really admired Gwen Stefani’s style.
CF: Do you have a favorite concert outfit?
IC: It usually depends on the concert and the type of music. For Coachella, I went dressed as a gypsy and I wore a coin skirt.
How To: Walk the world through rose-colored boots in this Topshop pick, or in a pair of Go-Go girls platforms with a rocker, lace-up twist. In Target’s Prabal Gurung collection leather jacket, you certainly won’t be singing I’m blue (da ba de da ba die). Or steal this Fashionista’s leather style with ASOS’s leather jacket collection.
