The semester doesn’t start for a couple more weeks, but there are already plenty of students back in Oxford who are taking a mini-session class, or just getting caught up before classes officially start. Emmalee, who is the Vice President of the Associated Student Body, is one student who always manages to look put-together on campus, regardless of if she’s headed to a meeting or to the library.
What really grabs my attention with this outfit is the oversized blazer. As a classically menswear-inspired piece, I love the longer proportion juxtaposed with the feminine dress.
Name: Emmalee Rainey
Major: Psychology Pre-med
CollegeFashionista: Where is your outfit from today?
Emmalee Rainey: My dress is from Forever 21, blazer from a vintage store and my boots are from Free People.
CF: Why do you like shopping at vintage/thrift stores?
ER: I really enjoy incorporating vintage/gently worn clothing into my style. Someone else may not have liked the item they gave away, but I will always find a way to recycle the clothing and make it fashionable.
CF: How would you describe your own personal style?
ER: Eclectic. I love the whole nineties look, but I mix in new trends. And the whole boho chic look is in there as well.
CF: Where do you find fashion inspiration?
ER: I tend to put a twist on fashion ideas from my friends and magazines and make them my own. Celebrity wise, I love Blake Lively’s style.
How To: Emmalee’s outfit is perfectly easy to re-create. A simple summer dress can be made weather-appropriate when layered over tights and tall boots. If you don’t feel like searching for your own vintage blazer, check out this ‘boyfriend’ blazer from Urban Outfitters (now on sale!).
