Early December over here in Auburn is usually pretty predictable. Cold weather is in full swing, finals are inevitably about to begin, and the only clothes you see on campus are sweatshirts and yoga pants. That being said, it’s always refreshing to see a student who doesn’t let the stress of finals affect the way she dresses. When I spotted this Fashionista on a dreary day in Auburn, I knew I had to share her rainy day outfit! She combines what every Fashonista could want in a class outfit: comfort and current trends. Read on to hear about her celebrity style crush, what she’s looking forward to wearing this fall and, most importantly, how to recreate this look for yourself!
Name: Emily Warren
Major: Early Childhood Education
CollegeFashionista: Who is your celebrity style icon?
Emily Warren: My celebrity style icon would definitely have to be Reese Witherspoon. Her style is classic, but she still always manages to stand out.
CF: What’s one fashion trend you hate?
EW: I’m really not fond of chambray. I’m not a fan of the light denim shirts. It always tends to clash with pants and I don’t think denim is something we should bring back.
CF: What are some of your favorite stores to shop in?
EW: I love to go shopping, and my clothes come from all over. But some of my favorites are Urban Outfitters, J.Crew and boutiques around Auburn. I have also gotten into shopping online, and sheInside is by far the best online store.
CF: If you could splurge on one item for your closet, what would it be?
EW: I would splurge on a brown leather tote in a heartbeat. I am going through a leather phase right now and I’m absolutely obsessed. It would also go with everything and hopefully last a lifetime.
How To: The key to this outfit is layering different textures of similar hues! Find some patterned neutral pants and pair with a similarly colored blouse. Add brown booties and a fur vest to complete your look! Don’t forget to accessorize with dainty gold jewelry or sunglasses.
