Frost bitten ground, sub-zero temps and slippery sidewalks, oh my! How to keep calm amidst the freezing temps, you ask? This week’s Fashionista knows all it. I spotted Emily staying cozy, and of course chic, in her trench, leather trimmed sweater and fringed infinity scarf. From her personal fashion to her personal blog, this weeks Fashionista has some major insight on the latest trends on campus.
Name: Emily Piskulick
Major: Public Relations
CollegeFashionista: Where did you get each piece of your outfit?
Emily Puskilik: My trench coat is Ellen Tracy and my next layer is from Marshall’s. I am obsessed with this statement scarf I found at Nordstrom. My pants are none other than Joe’s Jeans. My black booties are Steve Madden and last, my watch is Burberry.
CF: Does fashion play an important role in your life?
EP: I’m a fashion blogger, so absolutely. Everything I see has to do with fashion in some way or another and when I have free time, I’m reading Vogue or searching fashion blogs. I think fashion just makes life way more fun.
CF: What public figures inspire your style?
EP: Gwyneth Paltrow has always been and will always be my style icon. I love women who can look just as chic in jeans and a T-shirt as they do wearing a ball gown. For that reason, I also love (and casually stalk) Miranda Kerr and Cara Delevingne.
CF: Are brands important when you go shopping?
EP: I obviously have brands that I gravitate towards that I have worn in the past and know that I love, but I’m never opposed to trying new brands if I really love the item. For me, it’s all about quality and how much I like a piece; it’s not about what the label says.
How To: Don’t let the frightening low temperatures affect your cool. Stay warm and stylish in a detailed dark trench, like this one. Next is my personal favorite, leather detailed sweater. Pair this look with any winter outfit for a little edge! To finish off your outfit, slip into a pair of booties and there you have it!
