There’s nothing better to cover up in than a great trench coat, boots and a scarf. This Fashionista mixed these classic pieces together for a perfectly put together look for class. I love how her jacket isn’t the typical tan or brown color, but instead is green, the color of the year (according to just about anyone and everyone in the fashion world). Another part of the Fashionista’s outfit that I love? The mix of patterns. Her printed scarf and patterned tote complement each other and spice up her outfit wonderfully.
Name: Emily Clemens
CollegeFashionista: What item in your wardrobe do you find yourself reaching for the most?
Emily Clemens: My favorite thing in my closet is my chunky turquoise necklace. That’s probably my favorite thing, because I feel like it goes with everything. I got it from an antique style thrift store, so it’s not like a designer brand necklace, which I really like.
CF: Describe your personal style.
EC: It kinda depends on what the weather is like to be honest. I love basics and neutral colors. Sometimes I’ll do a pop of color, but I wear a lot of black. I love wearing all black, with that chunky necklace I was just talking about.
How To: To get this Fashionista’s perfect campus look, start with the perfect jacket: a trench coat. With spring just around the corner, this lightweight lavender trench is a perfect option for chilly March mornings. To shield those pretty little eyes from the sun, look for some aviators like this Fashionista’s. Books and laptops look best in an oversized purse or tote, and boots or flats are always best for those walks to and from class.
