Today’s Fashionisto takes us back to the ‘90s with his all-American style. His white pair of Vans, combined with his denim suit, puts a twist on ‘90s men’s fashion. Unlike Justin Timberlake’s denim suit disaster back in the day, this Fashionisto obtained a flawless retro style. Some of the fall and winter 2013 ‘90s-inspired pieces from Donatella Versace’s collection capture denim and its rebellious significance in fashion. From cuffed up jeans to unbuttoned shirts, denim’s revamped appearance during the ‘90s changed the rugged image it originally had. Read more on this Fashionisto to steal a look like his!
Name: Edgar Garza
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe today’s look?
EG: I wanted to get a ‘90s-inspired look and specifically focus on my white Vans.
CF: Where do you get your style?
EG: I don’t really have a particular source; however, I do browse and look for fashion news on my Twitter page. For runway and reviews, I go to Style.com. Occasionally, I look through several GQ spreads and articles for style inspiration.
CF: Describe style in one sentence.
EG: Style can make up for many things.
CF: For men, what is a spring must-have accessory?
EG: Socks! Because the weather is warm and you’re likely to show more leg, socks with different patterns make your outfit stand out.
CF: Whose style do you admire?
EG: Baptiste Giabiconi. He is a French model and now a pop star in France. His clothing choices are amazing!
How To: Get this ‘90s style by cuffing the bottom of a pair of blue jeans. Wear them with some slip-on Vans and a plain V-neck from Urban Outfitters. Top it off by either wearing a short sleeve plain denim top or tiger patterned shirt.
