As fall draws to an end with winter rapidly coming in, layering should be an essential part of everyone’s routine in the Midwest. This week, I found a Fashionista who was dressing for Missouri weather. One minute you’re cold, and the next you’re sweating walking to class.
Name: Ebony Francis
Major: Journalism Strategic Communications
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing today?
Ebony Francis: Skirt is from Cotton On, striped top from H&M, cardigan and high socks from T.J.Maxx, boots from Target and the bag is Kenneth Cole.
CF: How would you describe your style?
EF: Simple and eclectic. Throughout the week I dress for comfort and my style shines on the weekend.
CF: What are some of your favorite places to shop?
EF: H&M, Target, designer discount stores like T.J.Maxx, Ross and Marshalls. I also like to bargain shop in malls.
CF: What trends do you foresee for the winter season?
EF: Short booties and bold infinity scarves.
CF: Where does your inspiration come from?
EF: Everywhere really. I see certain items in the store or on people, and I try to incorporate it into my wardrobe in my own way.
CF: What is one piece of clothing you can’t live without?
EF: Yoga pants and leggings, comfort is huge!
CF: Who is your fashion role model?
EF: Solange Knowles.
How To: Get this look by layering a simple long-sleeved T-shirt and paring it with an oversized cardigan of your choice. Next, add a pencil skirt like this Fashionista did, or change it up and try a skater skirt! Put on some combat boots and knee-high socks and you have yourself a perfect transition outfit from fall to winter.
