It’s the first week of classes after winter break and here in Columbus and the weather is freezing. I spotted this Fashionista as she was walking home from her first day of classes rocking a chic and comfy look. By layering up a leather jacket with a chunky knit scarf this Fashionista is mix ‘n matching different textures while fighting off the cold weather in style. So, remember to ditch the sweats and hoodies and trade it in for a fashionable yet still comfortable look.
Name: Dylan Delay
Major: Speech and Hearing
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your personal style?
Dylan Delay: I don’t necessarily think I have a defined personal style. I’m from New England so I like to keep it pretty simple and comfortable, because of the constant changing weather, but remain trendy and stylish. I absolutely love chunky knit scarfs and sweaters that pair perfectly with this cold snowy season.
CF: What influences your style choices?
DD: My style choices are greatly influenced by the Kardashians. I bought a black blazer a year ago because Kim Kardashian always wears a black blazer. I like to think I’m a little bit more rough around the edges than the Kardashian’s.
CF: What are your top three wardrobe staples?
DD: My three wardrobe staples are my black combat boots, any type of scarf and a white or black v-neck t-shirt.
CF: Where is your favorite place to shop?
DD: My favorite place to shop is Forever 21 because it is trendy and affordable.
How To: You can never go wrong with black and by adding a pop of color it can really transform your outfit. Combat boots were a huge trend last season and they are again this season. Polyvore has a great selection of combat boots for you to choose from with so many different styles. Leather jackets should be a staple in every Fashionista’s closet because they can be worn in so many different ways. To finish off this Fashionista’s look bundle up with a chunky knit scarf that can add a pop of color — and remember the bigger the better!
