Coachella is in full swing and that means festival fashion is extremely popular right now. We had our very own music and arts festival here in Tuscaloosa last weekend and there were plenty of Fashionistas to be seen sporting floral and fringe.
Name: Dina Zeilner
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Dina Zeilner: To be honest, I would describe my style as ever-changing. If someone looked inside my closet, they would assume that four people share the same closet–but that’s just me. I wear whatever catches my eye and makes me feel great. I hate to define my style as one thing because I enjoy mixing all different styles together.
CF: Where do you garner fashion inspiration?
DZ: My inspiration comes from many places. I like magazines to initiate ideas and see what is new, but sometimes their looks can be hard on my wallet. That’s when I turn to random fashion and vintage blogs to get inspiration from unknown or self-made Fashionistas and mix all these ideas with my own to create a personal look. It’s always been a fashion formula for me.
CF: What is your go to look when dressing for class?
DZ: My go to look has to be a nice pair of skinny jeans and awesome shoes. I’ve been particularly fond of Jeffrey Campbell shoes since I was 16 because he just makes the most unique, amazing shoes that always add something special to any outfit. I usually finish the outfit with any top, even just a plain white T-shirt, and I’m ready for the day.
CF: How does fashion play a role in your everyday life?
DZ: Fashion to me, has always been fun and is a big part in my life because it is one of my main ways of showing who I am and self expression. I dress for myself and for no other reason, so when I get compliments on something I am wearing it really goes straight to my heart. It’s like getting complimented on a piece of who I am.
CF: What are you favorite spring trends?
DZ: Spring trends equal freedom! Freedom from bulky winter coats and clothes. I am originally from Miami, Florida so I have been waiting to break out the sundresses and sandals for a while now. The spring trends I am sporting are bold prints, such as stripes and florals. Don’t be afraid of bright colors whether it’s found in a purse or shoe, actually anything, just go for it! One tip, especially if your closet is mostly black and white right now, get a hot colored tote or an eye catching blazer to add some spring flair. You can never go wrong with a cute sundress and wedges.
How To: This Fashionista paired her distressed jeans with a simple floral T-shirt and some statement making Jeffery Cambell’s. Her accessories are kept dainty and girlish with her vintage inspired sunglasses and bow necklace. A straw hat is the perfect way to add the right amount of flair and the perfect accessory for shading that spring festival sunshine.
