As I was waiting for my next class to start, I saw this Fashionista walking up from afar. Her ensemble was spot-on. It was very suiting for her body type: slim yet baggy at the same time. She looked comfortable in her outfit, and we all know confidence is the key to pulling off any outfit. This Fashionista had to be my next FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT.
Name: Diamond Cooper
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and where is it from?
Diamond Cooper: I’m wearing this cute button-down from PacSun. I really like the designs on the shoulders. My pants are from H&M and they came with this cool belt. I got my braided sandals from Old Navy.
CF: Where do you usually shop for your clothes?
DC: I usually shop online. There’s this store called StoreEnvy.com that I go to regularly. I don’t like telling people about the site because I don’t want everyone wearing what I have on, but it’s a great website for unique pieces.
CF: How would you describe your style?
DC: It depends on the day, but most of the time I’m kind of preppy while laid-back at the same time.
CF: What will you be wearing a lot of this fall?
DC: I know the colors get darker along with the weather, so I’ll probably be wearing a lot of deep oranges and reds. I’m going to wear some Bill Cosby sweaters with paisley patterns, too. They’re ugly but I love them.
CF: What is your favorite item in your closet?
DC: I have a lot in my closet. I got these new pink booties with a heel on them that I love. I went back to the store five times, telling myself I wouldn’t get them every time, but I just had to.
How To: Having great pieces in your wardrobe makes it much easier to throw on an awesome outfit. This Fashionista’s look consists of just a button-down, slacks and a pair of sandals. It’s a simple ensemble for a comfortable, professional look. Girls should own at least one white button-down for the multitude of occasions it can be worn. Whether you tuck it in, like this Fashionista, or leave it untucked, a white button-down is a great staple piece for your closet. Chinos will always be a good pant to go with a white top. Find a pair that cut off a few inches above the ankle to emphasize on your legs. With the additional skin showing, sandals or flats would be the ideal shoe for this look. Three simple pieces can look stunning when worn properly. Take notes because this is a great look for an internship or business-casual setting.
