FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Daniele Weiss

Fashionista Spotlight

One of the most coveted looks in street style that many of us are constantly trying to achieve is the “off-duty” model look. It is fashion forward, yet effortless, like you threw on your clothes in the dark but still managed to look awesome. This Fashionista caught my eye with her chic, yet super relaxed look reminiscent of off-duty models. Created by mixing designer pieces with a fitted leather jacket and destroyed boyfriend jeans, this look is cool enough to match the dropping temperatures of New York in November.

Name: Daniele Weiss

Major: Marketing and Psychology

Year: Sophomore

CollegeFashionista: Tell me about what you’re wearing.

Daniele Weiss: A leather jacket from Aritzia (it’s Mackage), my beat-up boyfriend jeans that I get a lot of use out of, a blue and black blazer I got from my internship at Moschino, my American Apparel circle scarf, which is crucial in the winter, and my Sam Edelman boots. As for jewelry, I’ve got some rings on. One’s Elizabeth & James, one’s my mom’s, one’s David Yurman and then a bracelet that’s Jennifer Meyer for J.Crew. I’m also wearing some bracelets I bought in Israel and pearl earrings.

CF: How would you describe your personal style?

DW: I like to change it up, but I always find myself wearing a lot of the same things over and over. I try to keep it real.

CF: What will you be wearing a lot of this fall?

DW: Scarves on scarves and sweaters on sweaters!

CF: Where are your favorite places to shop in the city?

DW: Topshop, even though I don’t usually buy anything there. I still like to go in and look! And Aritzia I guess.

CF: If you could only wear one designer or brand, who would it be?

DW: If I could own everything from rag & bone or AllSaints… I’d be into that! And VINCE for their comfy sweaters, am I right?

How To: Achieve that off-duty cool look like Daniele does by taking easy pieces like destroyed boyfriend jeans and pairing them with an ultra chic, fitted leather jacket and heeled ankle boots. Throw your hair into a top knot to emphasize how relaxed you are and add a hint of femininity with delicate jewelry. Stay warm with a bulky circle scarf.
