Fall loves to surprise us with warm weather from time to time. This Fashionista took the chance to rock a look usually seen in the spring. I love the French style of stripes on her crop top. The style is from the early 20th century and is known as the “Breton stripe.” It was even considered haute couture by the 1930s. Paired with high-wasted shorts, these stripes will definitely turn some heads.

CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and where is it from?
DT: I’m wearing high-waisted shorts from Urban Outfitters, and I’m wearing a crop top from PacSun. My shoes are L.L.Bean moccasins.
CF: What are you looking forward to wearing this fall/winter?
DT: Chunky hiking socks with boots, layers on layers and a lot of flannels and jackets this winter. It’s going to be beanie season, too.
CF: Where do you usually shop for your clothes?
DT: Rumors in Richmond, Urban Outfitters and a lot of online shopping. NASTY GAL is one of my favorite shops. They seem to always have what I’m looking for.
CF: What is your favorite piece in your closet?
DT: Probably my maxi skirt because it’s so versatile. I can wear it with so many different crop tops.
CF: Where do you get your style inspiration?
DT: Lana Del Ray and Urban Outfitter models. I always love the clothes I see them wearing.
How To: The simple three pieces can be found with ease. Find a fitted crop top with Breton stripes to add that French touch to your look. High-waisted shorts seem to be in every girl’s closet nowadays. Search for a pair that will stick out. Customizing them wouldn’t be a bad idea either. Her moccasins are great for those cold classrooms. Comfort is always important with each of your ensembles.
