Alright, so I am very aware that spring is here and going strong — for the most part. And I know you must be thinking “Raven, why did you take a picture of a Fashionista covering her legs when the weather is finally warm!” Well, when you have been studying your butt off for the past week for your finals, you do not really want to get all dolled up to take your exams, but you do not want to look like you just got hit by a train either. This is where leggings come into play. I don’t know if it’s just me, but when I study for an excessive amount of time, I do not leave my apartment. Ever. Which means I am usually snacking on junk food or grilled cheeses. (I understand this is not healthy, but let’s get past this.) Leggings are perfect for when you feel lazy or when you forget to shave before you leave your apartment. I’m sure this Fashionista is none of the above, but she does look comfortable!
Name: Courtny Robinson
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and where did you get it from?
Courtny Robinson: I am wearing leggings from Tinka’s Closet, which is a boutique in Sanford. The shirt and purse are both from H&M.
CF: Do you usually wear a lot of leggings along with your outfits? If you do, why do you? And do you have other types of leggings?
CR: Either leggings or jeans. They are comfortable and they are easy to slip on and go! I have these and tribal print leggings. I like funky, stand out print leggings.
CF: What are you planning on wearing for the summer?
CR: Sundresses. That is exactly what I was thinking about when you walked up to me. I was just thinking “Where should I stock up on my sundresses?”
CF: So, where are you thinking to stock up on sundresses?
CR: Probably Forever 21, Ross or T.J. Maxx.
How To: When it comes to leggings, I like to balance things out. Usually, when the bottom half of my outfit is slim, I’ll proportion the top part of my outfit with a loose top or lots of layering. Take this waistcoat and place it over this shirt dress. Next, add the leggings and some heels. Just make sure your frontal region is covered up, and if you are not sure, use a mirror just in case. Isn’t that what they are for?
