The fall has different trends and styles that suit everyone differently. Although, if you haven’t yet looked into what you’ll be wearing this season, let me make a suggestion—try booties and sweaters. Separate or together, they’re a match made in heaven for the fall season in my opinion! Every Fashionista and Fashionisto will have their spin on things when it comes to pairing these two articles of clothing. But as I noticed on my way to class, this Fashionista swapped some regular pants for a cute white skirt to shake up her printed sweater, a knotted chambray around her waist and ultra-cute booties.
Name: Christina Cantu
Major: Criminal Justice
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing this evening?
Christina Cantu: My sweater is from Abercrombie & Fitch, skirt from Gap, my chambray top is from Target and booties are from Charlotte Russe.
CF: I noticed you’re mixing textures in your outfit. What do you like most about mixing textures this season?
CC: I like the effect it gives an outfit. It gives it a little extra something to bring out a certain originality.
CF: What will be the biggest fashion dare, you will try to achieve this fall?
CC: Knee-high socks! I’m kind of iffy about wearing them. But they’re worth a shot!
CF: Who are your favorite designers as of now?
CC: My favorite designers right now are Chanel and Vera Wang.
CF: Answer quick! Heels or running shoes? Why?
CC: Running Shoes! I just feel more comfortable, and able to do a lot more during my busy college day.
How To: Switch it up! Place a printed skirt with a solid colored sweater. Instead of chambray around your waist, go for a comeback fall staple: a plaid button-up. Slip on some brown, earth tone booties to complete your outfit along with some gold and silver jewelry when it comes to accessories. Be daring, Fashionistas and Fashionistos!
