It’s finally starting to feel a bit more like spring on campus. It’s nice to walk around in a great pair of flats and a light jacket, rather than boots and a parka all the time. I spotted this Fashionista in a casual outfit with great details–from her feather earrings to her embroidered blouse to her pair of woven flats. I was a fan of her olive green and maroon colour combo, too!
Name: Cheri Ferrell
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Cheri Ferrell: I would describe my style as being casual-chic and preppy. I also enjoy dressing like a tomboy.
CF: What are some of your wardrobe staples?
CF: Some of my wardrobe stables include my denim jacket, vintage shoes, accessories, skinny jeans and anything backless.
CF: Where do you look for style inspiration?
CF: I get my style inspiration from just walking down the streets of Toronto and from my very stylish best friend.
CF: Whose closet would you love to raid and why?
CF: I would love to raid Rihanna’s closet. She has an edgy but feminine look, and she can effortlessly go from casual to high fashion. I like that her attitude is represented in her style.
CF: What season do you get most excited to dress for and why?
CF: I love spring. It gives me a chance to be more versatile with my closet. I like wearing thin layers and different coloured jeans. Spring is perfect for that.
CF: If money weren’t an issue, what one item would you love to splurge on?
CF: If money weren’t an issue, the item I would splurge on would have to be shoes. I love Oxfords, loafers and ankle boots.
How To: Start off with a white or cream blouse with embroidered detailing. Throw on a black cardigan, an olive-coloured jacket and a pair of maroon pants. Next, add a pair of brown woven-style loafers. Finish off this look with a black satchel and brightly coloured feather earrings.
