When spring arrives, it is easy to notice a few campus-wide wardrobe changes starting to appear everywhere. Boys begin to wear shorts when the temperature rises above 50 degrees, girls forgo tights for bare legs and everyone wears their sunglasses (even if its mostly cloudy). One of the best fashion-related aspects of spring is that everyone gets to relax a bit with their outfits. Bulky winter coats are put in the closet in favor of light sweaters; clunky boots are put aside and strappy, airy sandals are chosen instead. When I spotted this Fashionista wearing a light and springy outfit, I loved her combination of spring colors and airy fabrics.
Name: Charlotte Rowe
Major: English and History
CollegeFashionista: What are your favorite items to wear in spring?
Charlotte Rowe: I just enjoy wearing less clothes in general; I like wearing lighter jackets, thin knitwear and sandals.
CF: Do you find that you shop at different stores for different seasons?
CR: No, I pretty much stick to shopping at the same places: H&M, Topshop, Zara, New Look and Urban Outfitters.
CF: What fall/winter item do you miss wearing the most in spring/summer?
CR: I miss wearing cozy, massive jumpers that seem to hide everything!
CF: If money was no object, which piece of clothing or accessory would you buy?
CR: I would definitely buy everything that Chanel has to offer. Especially when it comes to all their jackets and bags.
How To: To get this Fashionista’s look, search for a bright, airy blouse to wear with a pair of skinny jeans. Perfect for festival season, this white, embroidered top from ASOS would look cute with jeans, or tucked into a high-waisted, patterned skirt. Add a colorful scarf to any outfit to add a spring touch, as well. This patterned scarf from Anthropologie would be a great addition to any outfit.
