FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Charlea Pace

Fashionista Spotlight

Growing up, I hated the idea of having to carry around a purse everywhere I went. That soon changed once I found the perfect satchel that fit my personal lifestyle and taste. Since then, I have been treating myself to a new purse whenever I find a deal in a store. Ladies, don’t feel ashamed for splurging on yourself. Take this Fashionista’s advice when she told me, “It’s okay to splurge on yourself every now and then.” Today’s Fashionista did just that this past Christmas. She shared with me that after a hectic semester of long nights and working weekends it was time to purchase a well deserved gift for herself— a KORS Michael Kors purse.

Name: Charlea Pace

Major: Chemistry

Year: Sophomore

CollegeFashionista: Tell me about what you are wearing today.

Charlea Pace: I am wearing an orange blouse with gold studs on the collar that I bought from Forever 21. I also purchased these black and white print pants from Forever 21. Then I decided to put on my favorite pair of sparkly black TOMS shoes to my ensemble. To accessorize I decided to wear these earrings I bought from Goodwill and my Betsey Johnson watch that I bought from Dillard’s. I then added the final touch with my new KORS Michael Kors purse that I bought for myself this past Christmas.

CF: What item in your closet is something that you cannot live without?

CP: I cannot live without my American Eagle Outfitters denim jacket! I will wear that jacket with almost anything. During warm weather I just roll the sleeves up. When it’s cold outside I just add a scarf and go with it.

CF: Where do you get your style inspiration from?

CP: It comes from all different sources like TV shows, magazines and street style. I also look at the CollegeFashionista website for outfit inspirations.

CF: What trend(s) are you most excited about this spring?

CP: I can’t wait for sundresses! I am so ready for dress season.

CF: Is there any advice you could give to Fashionistas who are afraid of wearing bright colors?

CP: Bright colors are always okay just don’t overdo it. Always wear a bright color with a modest color so it doesn’t look tacky.

How To: To recreate this Fashionista’s look, make sure to wear a pair of print pants with a bold colored blouse. Add your favorite pair of sparkly shoes and your favorite purse to the mix for an upbeat ensemble that will have you noticed.
