With Labor Day weekend behind us, I think it’s safe to say that we all need to accept the fact that school has started. With this unbelievably hot weather along with a four day weekend after only a week’s worth of classes, it’s been hard to believe that the summer is truly over. Frankly, I don’t even want to think about saying goodbye to my sundresses, high-waisted shorts and crop tops. When I saw this Fashionista walking down Greek Street, I had a feeling she felt the same way.
Name: Cassy Cheshire
Major: Marketing and Creative Advertising
CollegeFashionista: Where did you buy those shorts?
Cassie Cheshire: I got them from a place called Scout Dry Goods and Trade. It’s a buy, sell and trade store in Omaha.
CF: What is your favorite season for fashion?
CC: Winters are my absolute favorite. Layering scarves and cardigans is just cozy and fabulous.
CF: What is your go-to outfit?
CC: A simple T-shirt, shorts and boat shoes can make my everyday liveable.
CF: What’s your favorite place to shop?
CC: I like expensive clothes, but I don’t like to pay a lot for them so I go to consignment shops, vintage shops, resale shops and even thrift shops. There are tons around.
CF: What is your favorite color to wear and why?
CC: Honestly, I couldn’t tell you. I love to wear a monochromatic palette and add some fun with a dash of color. I usually stay away from pastels.
How To: High-waisted shorts are fairly simple to pull off and as flaunted by this Fashionista, can make your legs look infinitely long. This Fashionista chose to complete her look with a crochet, sleeveless, tie-front top from PacSun and edgy sandals with metallic spikes from H&M. Her earrings from Francesca’s brighten up her ensemble in contrast to the nude, double handled shoulder bag she chose to carry—another purchase from H&M. If you are trying to look cute, comfy and cool, for the very few warm days that lie ahead, this is the look for you.
