As the days are growing warmer, it’s sometimes a difficult decision between shorts and pants. This Fashionista shows us that we no longer have to stress in the mornings making that choice. From the day’s blazing sun to the night’s cool air, the jumpsuit will prove comfortable in any weather. A one-piece with a bold pattern leaves tons of room for accessorizing, perfect for the bohemian summertime. With a jumpsuit as trendy as the one this Fashionista is rocking, all eyes will be on you. This Fashionista may enjoy the classics, but she’s taken a turn for the contemporary in this week’s Spotlight.
Name: Caroline Jaffe
Major: Marketing, Innovation and Design
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Caroline Jaffe: Classic, I like to keep my wardrobe filled with basics and a few fun pieces I can make different outfits with.
CF: Who or what influences your style?
CJ: People watching. I do it all the time, and clothes are the best thing to stalk! Everyone from toddlers to moms have made an impact on my style.
CF: What trends are you most excited about this spring?
CJ: I’m excited about all the bold parings of black and white (back to those classics again) and tons of stripes.
CF: Where are some other your favorite places to shop?
CJ: At home I love Anthropologie, Free People and Denim Habit.
CF: How has studying abroad in Rome influenced your style?
CJ: I’ve definitely learned to mix and match in new ways. I could only fit so many clothes in my suitcase, so I’ve been forced to pair things together that I would have never thought worked before. I also have a new appreciation for booties!
How To: This look is super simple to achieve. Start with a staple jumpsuit. These are twisting their way into the fashion scene this spring, so you can find them anywhere from Forever 21 to J.Crew. Then, slip on your favorite pair of strappy sandals (thick straps are making their way in, so opt for a pair of ones like these). Add your everyday watch (try a wrap watch for a touch of boho) and even a wide-brimmed floppy hat to complete the outfit. For colder days, grab a light jean jacket on your way out of the door. You’re ready for a day out shopping, grabbing lunch with a friend or just heading to class.
