Toronto’s weather seems to be all over the place these days, which can be a bit annoying when you plan out your outfits. Fashionista/os sometimes have to compromise on a day when the sun is shining, yet it’s still too chilly for their spring pieces. This Fashionista pulled together an effortlessly edgy ensemble–sticking with black-on-black–but she added brown accessories to give her look an extra texture.
Name: Brooke Lebel
Major: Fashion design
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Brooke Lebel: It’s a mixture! A lot of it depends on my mood for the day. I’m big on comfort, as well. Most of the time, I would say I have more of a grungy, edgier look.
CF: What are some of your wardrobe staples?
BL: Basic T-shirts, black pants and jewelry.
CF: Where do you find your fashion inspiration?
BL: I love looking at street-style photos and Pinterest!
CF: Whose closet would you love to raid and why?
BL: So many closets I’d love to raid! I would die to raid–the obvious–Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s closets. I would also love to raid Danielle’s closet, from the blog WeWoreWhat.
CF: What are some of your favourite trends this season?
BL: I’m loving the stripes, and the matching print separates for spring.
CF: If money weren’t an issue, what one item would you love to splurge on?
BL: I would probably splurge on a really nice coat that’s versatile for fall, winter and spring.
How to: Start off with a comfy black sweater, or turtleneck, and throw on a leather jacket. Then, add a pair of black jeans and studded ankle boots. Finish off with a brown oversized shoulder bag, a fur or faux-fur scarf and a pair of Aviator shades.
