Yes, Fashionistas are in a high-waisted craze and it is beautiful. It has been a trend that has been brought back and increasingly popular. High-waisted bottoms can be paired with baggy sweaters or with a tucked-in white T-shirt. This Fashionista tucked in a plain white T-shirt and finished the look with a trendy brown belt and brown oxford shoes.
Name: Brooke Harding
CollegeFashionista: Describe your personal style.
Brooke Harding: My style is definitely seasonal. During the colder months I go pretty boho because there are so many opportunities to layer but in the spring and summer it’s pretty clean and simple.
CF: What inspires your style?
BH: Travel. I love incorporating different patterns or colors that remind me of places that I’ve visited.
CF: What is your favorite thing to accessorize and outfit with?
BH: Definitely rings. I feel naked without them!
CF: When did you take the plunge and hop on the bandwagon for the high-waisted trend?
BH: This winter actually. I was kind of late to the game because I had convinced myself that they were the equivalent to mom jeans but when crop tops made their return I couldn’t resist. I took a risk and bought a pair of high-waisted denims and then there was no turning back, I absolutely love them!
How To: Chances are you have some of these pieces in your closet already. The staple piece in this look are the high-rise jeans. Urban Outfitters is a great place to go to find a handful of different high-rise styles. Next, pick up a plain white T-shirt from Gap. Accessorize the look with a classic leather belt and plain brown oxford flats. Lastly, finish the look with a drop necklace and gold arm cuff.
