Accessories can make or break an outfit, and like this Fashionista, they are great for adding some color and design to a simple outfit. People may think that since they are bundled up for the cold weather, their opportunity to accessorize is slim, but just because you can’t see a necklace underneath a jacket doesn’t mean you can’t add a trendy scarf or hat to top the outfit off. This Fashionista relies on more plain pieces to complete her wardrobe but below you will find out how she still manages to be stylish.
Name: Blair Turner
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and where is it from?
Blair Turner: My hat is from Charlotte Russe, shirt is from Young&Reckless, jacket and leggings are from Forever 21, my scarf is from H&M and shoes are from Macy’s.
CF: What are your wardrobe staples?
BT: A pair of combat boots, scarves, a leather jacket, a good pair of jeans and leggings, graphic tees and beanies.
CF: What are your favorite colors to wear and why?
BT: Definitely black and gray. Even though they are very simple colors, everything goes with them so it makes it easy to make outfits.
CF: What would you never be caught wearing?
BT: A fedora, I don’t think I could pull it off.
How To: Layering a hooded sweatshirt with a jean jacket is the perfect comfortable but stylish top. Throw on a graphic tee underneath it with a pair of leggings and you are set to not only face the cold, but your last few finals. Add some accessories with different designs and colors, like your favorite scarf and a beanie to make the look more casual. And last but not least, put on a pair of boots–the ideal shoe for winter.
