It’s Monday morning and your alarm clock rings. You hit snooze… and snooze again… and snooze again. Soon enough you realize you only have 15 minutes until your first class. Don’t fear Fashionistas! There is a quick and easy outfit that doesn’t involve yoga pants or running shoes. This Fashionista masters this roll out of bed, yet super adorable and fashionable outfit, with perfection. She also meshes spring and winter with a jean jacket, summer dress and black tights that keeps her warm and dressed perfectly for this time of year.
Name: Bella Farkasovsky
Major: International Studies
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing today, Bella?
Bella Farkasovsky: My shoes are Dr. Martens. My leggings are from H&M. This dress is from Urban Outfitters. This jacket is from a thrift shop in Berkeley, and it’s from the Gap. This backpack is also from Urban Outfitters. My earrings are from an Indian store in Berkeley.
CF: Where do you typically like to shop?
BF: I like to shop at thrift stores and Urban Outfitters mostly. I’m a pretty frugal shopper, except I would splurge on Dr. Martens.
CF: What is your favorite piece in your closet right now?
BF: I have this black velvet dress that goes to my knees that I got from Urban Outfitters.
CF: Who is your fashion icon?
BF: I would say Aubrey Hepburn, but not Breakfast at Tiffany’s Audrey Hepburn. More like Audrey Hepburn’s boyish look with the collared shirts and stuff.
CF: Where do you get your style inspiration from?
BF: Well, I have changed my look since I’ve been at USF. I would say from my friends and people I see in the city. I also look at Tumblr. I like that punk and grunge look, so I follow and look at that type of look.
CF: What is your favorite thing about San Francisco fashion?
BF: I feel like the weather allows you to wear whatever you want all the time. You can wear dresses in the winter and heavy coats in the summer. People in San Francisco are very stylish and wear whatever they want so you never really feel out of place.
CF: How would you describe your style?
BF: I would say girly punk. I throw on what I want.
How To: For this quick five to 10 minute look, pull on a pair of black or brown tights and match your shoe color. A pair of black booties, flats or high-tops can be worn with black tights, and brown tights can be worn with beige or brown booties or flats. Grab a cute fit and flare dress of your choice and grab a cardigan, jean jacket or even a colorful peacoat. You can accessorize any way you choose! A scarf for those Fashionistas in the Polar Vortex or a cute beanie or hat to add an extra bit of personality to this outfit. Our Fashionista adds simple earrings and a bold lip color to this cool outfit. Don’t forget your bag (and books), and you are out the door just in time for class.
