As if sharing clothing with one sister had enough benefits, this lucky and loving quadruplet has her sisters’ three other wardrobes to pick through every morning. Spotted in a bright green lace dress on her way to brunch, this stylish Fashionista looked beautiful in an outfit that she didn’t even own.
Name: Becky Chalsen
Major: Classical Studies
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing today?
Becky Chalsen: I’m actually not wearing any of my own clothes in this picture! The dress is from Urban Outfitters, and the boots are by Jessica Simpson (my guilty pleasure in terms of a designer). Both technically belong to my sister! She is studying abroad in Barcelona this semester so I got to take all the leftover clothes that wouldn’t fit in her suitcase to school with me. Just one of the perks of being a quadruplet, I guess.
CF: What inspires your style?
BC: I love earth tones. Especially in the fall season, I always find myself grabbing shirts in that great deep burgundy color. I’m also a huge fan of browns, greens and navy blues
CF: What tips do you have for finding budget-friendly clothing?
BC: Again playing the quadruplet card, my favorite way to find budget-friendly clothes is simply to share. Raid the closets of your sisters, friends or roommates. One of the best things about college life is getting to share clothes with your friends! Also, I am constantly checking the sale sections on my favorite websites like Tobi, HauteLook, Urban Outfitters and Free People. I rarely buy anything full price.
CF: What DIY tips do you have for students?
BC: I’m horribly not artistic, and I’m probably the least crafty person I’ve ever met. In terms of DIY, I don’t venture farther than doing my own nails. Doing my own manicure saves so much money, and I get to play around with whatever colors I want.
CF: What tips do you have for accessorizing?
BC: I love to wear accessories that mean something to me. For example, I’ve worn the same necklace every day for the past three years. The necklace was given to me by my boyfriend as a Christmas present back when we first started dating. I also always wear a silver Stella & Dot bracelet that my quadruplet sisters and I wear as a friendship bracelet. While spicing up an outfit with jewelry is always fun, my tip for accessorizing is to wear things that are special to you even if that means you wear them every day.
How To: Accessorize this week with items that are meaningful to you. Rather than opt for that trendy chunky necklace, layer different jewelry pieces on a lace dress as this Fashionista did. Not only will your jewelry stand as reminders of the important people in your life, it will also look great!
