Summer is still in full force in Washington, D.C., and this Fashionista is working with it. I love to see a girl who acknowledges the latest trends, but also isn’t afraid to put her own spin on the look. That’s what I found in this Fashionista as she walked back from her Communications class. The Aztec printed dress with cutouts is very on trend, but with an interesting midi length hem and chunky Urban Outfitters platforms it becomes a look uniquely her own.
Name: Beatrice Becette
Major: Film and Media with minors in Creative Writing and Marketing
CollegeFashionista: Where are all the pieces you are wearing from?
Beatrice Becette: The dress and shoes are both from Urban Outfitters. The sunglasses are from a boutique in New Hope, Pennsylvania. The necklace is actually from my grandmother in France!
CF: What is your favorite piece of clothing in your closet?
BB: I love my maxi skirts. You can wear them anywhere and with anything.
CF: What is one thing you want in your closet for the fall?
BB: More T-shirt crop tops for sure! They’ll match with all my high-waisted shorts and maxi skirts.
CF: What is one fashion faux pas you hate?
BB: Oh there are so many things… Mostly I don’t like boring outfits. When people wear sweatshirts or T-shirts I just want to tell them to dress up!
CF: Where do you tend to shop?
BB: Urban Outfitters, because I work there!
How To: This look is very versatile and easy to replicate. A fun, printed maxi skirt pairs perfectly with a pair of low wedges. Throw on some taller wedges for going out with the girls, or even flat sandals for running to class. To complete the look, accessorize with a pair of statement making sunglasses in a color that pops!
