We all love the first few warm days of spring when we wiggle our sun-deprived toes out of our worn out boots and into our beloved but seasonally neglected flats and flip-flops. There is always that one pair of shoes that we can’t wait to show off again, even if they are very well loved and slightly ragged. For me, those shoes would have to be my bright and comfy Keds, and for this Fashionista they would have to be her rockin’ red Converse, which instantly caught my eye.
Name: Barrie Schneiderman
Major: Documentary Studies
CollegeFashionista: What are you most excited about for spring?
Barrie Schneiderman: I am so excited to start wearing my TOMS shoes and my shorts again. I just like lighter clothing in general.
CF: If you could steal anyone’s wardrobe who’s would it be?
BS: That would definitely have to be Mila Kunis, because she is always so put together. I would describe her as fashion-forward and chic.
CF: Has your style changed a lot since getting to college?
BS: Yes and no. I am still obsessed with Converse, but I definitely have branched out a lot more with some more sophisticated tops and unique items.
CF: What is one piece in your closet that you can’t live without?
BS: I have to say all my shoes. I am obsessed with bold and bright shoes, but I always try and get ones that I will wear a lot, like TOMS shoes or Converse.
CF: If you had the means, what item would you splurge on?
BS: That would definitely have to be a Marc Jacobs bag. I am always on the website looking at the amazing bags. They have such clean lines and are so classic.
How To: Try out Barrie’s look by taking a sophisticated top like this one from Ann Taylor LOFT and add a bold flat shoe–something like Converse or these awesome sneakers from Nasty Gal would make just the right statement you’re looking for.
