At many colleges and universities across America, this week was the first week of classes. As you get older and more focused on your major and your career after college, making a good first impression with professors and employers is crucial. For her first week of classes, this Fashionista opted for dark skinny jeans and a small patterned button-up tank top.
Name: Autummn Robinson
Major: Fashion Merchandising
CollegeFashionista: What inspired you to major in fashion when you came to Kent State?
Autummn Robinson: I’ve always been very into art, and I remember stumbling upon the show, Project Runway. Watching that really showed me that I could make a living in fashion, and that was when I really started to get into it and want to study it in college.
CF: How would you describe your style?
AR: My style is very modern. I like to follow whatever the trend is in at the moment.
CF: What is your favorite season for fashion and why?
AR: My favorite season for fashion is fall because it’s not too hot or cold. You can still get away with wearing a tank top, but you can also wear boots and sweaters.
CF: What’s next on your shopping list?
AR: The next thing I’m buying is definitely a pair of Sperry Top-Siders!
CF: What fashion designer would you love to grab coffee with?
AR: Probably Christian Siriano. I’ve always looked up to him and felt so inspired by his work.
How To: To get this put together look, go for a patterned button-down tank top like this one from Target. A good pair of flats is essential when living on a college campus. As much as fashion majors love heels, they just aren’t practical on most days. Go for a classic black pair or add pop of color in your outfit with flats like these from Tory Burch.
