FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Annie Kipcak

Fashionista Spotlight

Beyoncé might run the world but this Fashionista comes in a close second. From her black hat to her Timberlands, she nailed this look. You may tend to shy away from camo but after seeing this Fashionista I think it’s time to take a step back and embrace the beauty it can hold. Not only are the deep greens great for winter but pair some camo skinnies with a black or white top and you, too, can run the world.

Name: Annie Kipcak

Year: Junior

Major: Latin American Studies and Global Health

CollegeFashionista: What does it mean to you to be stylish?
Annie Kipcak: What it means to me to be stylish is to stand out from everyone else. To have a way about you that makes you different from other people and to feel confident is being stylish to me. I love when people take risks with their style and are confident when they do.
CF: What/who inspires your style?
AK: My sister for sure inspires my style, I’ve always looked up to her. But, celebrity wise definitely Rihanna, Nicole Richie, The Olsen twins, anyone who really goes beyond just
what’s “trendy.”
CF: Has your style evolved since your freshman year in college? And if so, why or why not?
AK: My style has totally evolved. I take a lot more risks with my style now that I never would have done freshman year or before then. I think I’m more confident in who am I now so that has allowed me to dress how I’ve always really wanted to and not care what other people think about my outfit.
CF: What makes your style unique?
AK: I like to think my style is unique. I think what makes it unique is that I don’t really have just one look. I like switching it up and wearing sporty clothes, dressy girly looks, and then kind of a street wear look sometimes, too. I’m also a broke college kid so I have to find clothes on a budget and that in itself can produce some unique outfits.
How To: This look is simple and easy and chances are you already have some of these items in your closet. If not, snag a pair of these camo patch-pocket cargo pants from Urban Outfitters and pair them with this white open-knit sweater from Forever 21. Top the look off with a pair of Timberlands and a leather backpack and you’ll have everyone falling “Crazy In Love.”
