Last Monday, the oscars of fashion commenced in the Big Apple. The Met Gala flourished with the essence of spikes, ripped shirts, plaid and safety pins. Punk was the theme for the night and celebrities and V.I.Ps alike joined to celebrate the fashion that actually rebelled against fashion itself. Just like this Fashionista, dark lipstick and pink was a staple at the event. There was plenty of pink throughout the exhibit, while black was the uniform color of the night by the attendees. Even though this Fashionista was the sweetest person ever, she embraced her dark side with a little punk and edge.
Name: Angela Quiroga
Major: Psychology/Women’s studies
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing and where did you get it from?
Angela Quiroga: The boots are Demonia; I got them offline. You can find them off any goth shoe store. The sweater is from Forever 21 and the shirt is just a random that I got from Target. The bow tie I actually got from a western store and these are just random leggings. I don’t remember where I got them from. The headband is from a store where everything costs under ten dollars.
CF: How would you describe your style?
AQ: Just really eclectic because one day I will wear like a really pretty sundress and the next will be something like I am wearing today. I don’t have a style yet; I’m still kinda looking for it
CF: Where do you get your inspiration from?
AQ: Well, I am on Tumblr a lot. I will look at people and think that looks really good and I wonder if I can pull something like that off. I just try random things really. I’ll pick random things out from my closest and put them on and think “Ok, this looks like it works.”
How To: You can never go wrong with spikes. Take this leather jacket with you wherever you go; just be careful when you hug your friends. Get these Demonia shoes like what this Fashionista is wearing and where this chain head wrap. If you are not really interested in covering your whole head, try this earpiece with spikes.
