After many months of finding and photographing those with the most stylish and chic outfits, I have become accustomed to observing and taking in the fashion of as many people as I can. I love being able to decipher the latest trends as it helps me keep up-to-date on what types of clothing are popular. This Fashionista was one of the many students I came across whose style portrayed a sense of elegance. Her look was simple, but her accessories added a sophisticated touch.
Name: Amanda Green
Major: Human Development
CollegeFashionista: Why is fashion important to you?
Amanda Green: Fashion is important because it is a way to flaunt yourself. I always dress in a way that represents who I am as a person so that people who may not know me could judge me accurately.
CF: Where do you get your style inspirations from?
AG: I get my inspirations from Michael Kors. I work at one of their retail outlet malls back at home and I therefore get many opportunities to look at new fashion trends by regularly browsing the store and their magazines.
CF: How often do your fashion styles change?
AG: My fashion styles don’t change often. I like to keep things simple but I do change my color options and patterns to coordinate with the seasons. In the fall, I like to wear reds, plums and browns whereas in the summer I will wear pastel colors.
CF: What are you looking forward to wearing as the cold weather approaches and why?
AG: I love wearing sweaters in the winter. They are cute, comfortable and a great way to help me keep warm. I love coordinating them with various types and colors of scarves.
How To: As a college student, the key to dressing chic is to keep your outfits simple but add personal touches to make them unique. This Fashionista is wearing a standard pair of skinny jeans that you can buy at many stores, for example American Eagle. Her waterfall cardigan sweater with its flowy touch adds a lot of style. Here is one from Target. For a nice quilted jacket to accompany this outfit, check out this one from L.L.Bean. Lastly, add a jewelry piece to tie this all together and make a statement. Take a look at this beautiful necklace from Lord & Taylor.
