While harem type pants are in style this season, I’ll be the first to admit that it’s one of the more intimidating trends out there. It’s the kind of trend that falls right after beanies but just before overalls on the “Can I pull this off” scale. I spotted this Fashionista on my way to get coffee and was immediately captivated by her style. The only thing harder than pulling off these pants, is getting my attention before my morning cup of brew. To some this may be a tough look to pull off, but this Fashionista paired the pants with both the perfect accessories and confidence to bring this outfit to life.
Name: Alyssa Kaplan
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing?
Alyssa Kaplan: I’m wearing my friend’s black cami, flowy pants from Target, black flats by Steve Madden, a Louis Vuitton tote and statement jewelry from Forever 21.
CF: From whom/what do you gather style inspiration from?
AK: This summer harem pants have been in style everywhere so I guess you could say I gathered inspiration from the fad itself.
CF: What are your favorite places to shop?
AK: I love to shop at Forever 21, Nordstrom BP, Urban Outfitters and H&M. They’re all really trendy but still affordable.
CF: If you were given the opportunity to have any one persons wardrobe for a day whose would you choose?
AK: Definitely Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City. I would do anything to get my hands on her closet.
How to: If you love this look you’re in luck because finding this style pant is a breeze this season. For reasonably priced harem pants, hit up your local Urban Outfitters where you can find them in an array of colors and patterns. Pair the pants with a tight, solid colored tank and basic flats if you’re aiming for a daytime outfit. To dress up the outfit, match the pants up with a crop top and some suede pumps to give it that night time look.
