Every Fashionista needs a reliable day to night outfit in college. Whether you’re going for a girly or grungy look, black clothing simply never seems to fail. This Fashionista’s interesting monochrome ensemble looks just as great on campus as it does at a concert.
Name: Allison Wolfe
Major: Broadcast Production
CollegeFashionista: How would you describe your style?
Allison Wolfe: I’d probably describe my style as a mix of hipster and punk. I really like mixing those styles by say, wearing a long skirt and floral shirt with combat boots and a leather jacket. I think elements from each help create my look.
CF: Where are your favorite places to shop?
AW: My favorite places to shop are H&M, Forever 21, Wet Seal and Charlotte Russe. I like checking out thrift stores too but I can never really find anything.
CF: What’s your favorite piece in your closet?
AW: Oh, that’s a hard one. I’d have to say this big cozy sweater my mom got for me for Christmas. It’s the softest thing in the world. It’s royal blue with teal giraffe print on it.
CF: Do you have a favorite spring trend?
AW: Florals! And sandals. I love sandals and flip flops.
How To: For an edgy look, try pairing a printed crop top with high-waisted pants. I love the daisy print crop top that this Fashionista is wearing. The classic and feminine print contrasts nicely with a bold leather jacket for chilly spring days or even a night out in the city. Play up your silhouette with a pair of black harem pants. Their loose fit will look great in addition to the structure of your jacket. Slip on a pair of combat boots to maintain your rock ‘n roll vibe and protect your eyes with a pair of shades.
