The first things that come to mind when I think of summer are beaches, warm weather and just taking the time to relax. However, for most college students, summer is a time for hard work, as this season marks the beginning of summer jobs and internships. I spotted this Fashionista coming back from her internship in New York City. Her outfit is definitely stylish but also practical for a long day of work. When choosing what to wear, comfort is essential, especially when you’re working all day. But even when dressing for a casual day at work, you can always be stylish.
Name: Alli Komrower
College Fashionista: What are you wearing today and where is it from?
Alli Komrower: I am wearing Gap jeans, a shirt from Ginger and Cream, which is a boutique in Westwood, New Jersey and my bag is from Lucky Brand.
CF: How would you describe your signature style or look?
AK: I’d have to say that my signature style is comfortable and relaxed. I like to keep my outfits simple, and when I want to dress up my look I add funky jewelry. Jeans are my go-to fashion necessity because they can be worn every day in almost any season and can easily be dressed up or down.
CF: What is your go-to trend for summer?
AK: At my internship in New York City this summer, the dress code is extremely low key. Most days I wear jeans with a nice shirt or summer dresses. My go-to trend for the next few months would have to be a look that is casual yet business-like, but of course stylish too!
How To: This look is perfect for a casual day at work because it’s stylish, yet comfortable. To get this Fashionista’s look, begin with a simple top. Next, choose a pair of lightweight pants that will keep you cool in the summer heat while still looking professional. Then add a comfortable pair of flats that you can wear all day long. Finally, accessorize your outfit with a tote bag and some layered bracelets. This look will keep you looking professional while feeling comfortable all summer long.
