Spring has finally sprung here in Chicago, and boy does it feel good! The winter coats are coming off and the layers don’t feel as heavy. Bring on the skirts and trench coats, the florals and flats. Yes! We can show our feet again! On this beautiful day I spotted this Fashionista. Her tan jacket and turquoise statement necklace caught my eye. Neutral and pastel colors are a personal favorite trend and I loved how she balanced the colors in her outfit. Balance is key for some when putting an outfit together, and this Fashionista does it with ease.
Name: Alexandra Koehler
Major: Fashion Business
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing today?
Alexandra Koehler: Today I almost have a head to toe Forever 21 outfit. My jacket, top and boots are from there. I’m wearing jeans from Target and I have on my Marc by Marc Jacobs glasses. I also bought this necklace from Forever 21 as well.
CF: How would you describe your style?
AK: I would probably just describe it as modern. I love being able to switch it up and not always be consistently in one style category.
CF: What is an essential piece of clothing in your closet? Why?
AK: Crop tops. I still can’t get over the crop top with a high-waisted bottom. I think it’s an easy way to wear something simple without it being boring.
CF: Where do you love to shop?
AK: A few of my favorites are H&M, ASOS and Forever 21. Basically anywhere that I can find something affordable that fits my style.
CF: Where do you get fashion inspiration?
AK: I would say Pinterest and fashion blogs.
CF: Do you have any favorite designers or brands? Why are they your fave?
AK: My favorite brand currently would be Paige Premium Denim. I just bought my first pair and I’m mildly obsessed with them. I love Victoria Beckham. Her A/W 14/15 show was amazing. Also, I cannot get over the Chanel show for A/W. I would have killed to be able to go to that one.
CF: What do you hope to do in the fashion industry after you graduate?
AK: When I graduate I would like to work in the wholesale industry to gain more experience with numbers and vendor relationships, since my long term goal in the fashion industry is to be a buyer.
