FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Alex Kadish

Fashionista Spotlight

‘Tis the season for sweaters, ladies! I know, I know, you’ve been waiting all year and now that the time is finally here you’re jollier than ever. Don’t worry you’re not alone here; I’m super excited that sweater season is here and so is this week’s Fashionista who’s preparing for finals week and starting to pack for winter break.

Name: Alex Kadish

Major: International Affairs

Year: Sophomore

CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing?

Alex Kadish: I’m wearing a camo-print sweater from Saks Fifth Avenue, leather-panel leggings from Romeo & Juliet Couture, Frye boots and a Treesje bag.

CF: What are some of your tips for students packing for winter break?

AK: Pick things that are versatile and that you can wear with multiple outfits. I know I tend to overpack so thinking about what you will definitely need and what might just be taking up extra space in your bag is super important, especially if you’re flying home.

CF: How do you plan to stay fashionable during finals week?

AK: I love to be comfortable when I study, but also try to look put together. My go-to look for finals week (and usually classes in general) are leggings and an oversized print or patterned sweater with converse or boots.

CF: What will you be wearing to travel home this holiday season and what outfits do you recommend to those flying home?

AK: When I travel I always try to dress cute, but also comfortably. I think when you’re flying home layering is great, especially if you’re going home to a different temperature. Also, I always wear the heaviest shoes I’m bringing home, which are usually a pair of boots, that way I don’t have to squeeze them into my bag.

How To: To start, you’ll need a camouflage sweater, preferably one with a slouchy fit. Keep it trendy by pairing this sweater with these Blank NYC leather pants. You can never go wrong with boots, so combat boots are a perfect fit. Not only will they look amazing, but they go along with the rest of this military-inspired look. If you’re feeling super edgy and want to add something extra, try a statement gold necklace to finish off the outfit.
