From running shorts with North Face hoodies to dresses and heels, what students wear on an average class day can vary drastically on any college campus. Casual dressing can no longer be defined in one way. This Fashionista decided to incorporate her own personal style into a casual, yet chic, outfit that echoed trends of army green and leather, while being reminiscent of the style of fashion icons like Alexa Chung. I especially loved this Fashionista’s outfit details in the form of her edgy boots and unique sunglasses.
Name: Aisha Hatter
Major: Mass Communications
College Fashionista: Could you describe your style in a few words?
Aisha Hatter: I would say that my style is girly and edgy. Some other words might be grungy, feminine and classic.
CF: Who are your style icons?
AH: Alexa Chung, Daisy Lowe and Cara Delevingne are all style icons of mine. Another big inspiration for me is Leandra Medine of The Man Repeller. I love her.
CF: What item in your closet could you not live without?
AH: I would definitely say the jacket I’m wearing now. I love the combination of leather and olive green.
CF: What trend are you dying to try?
AH: I’ve been really into printed pants lately and am really interested in finding a good pair.
CF: Have you had any cringe-worthy fashion moments in the past?
AH: When I was younger, I was really into ‘scene’ style and wore hair extensions and youth large band T-shirts that were way too small for me. Basically, I would say my entire youth was an embarrassing fashion moment for me.
How To: To get this Fashionista’s look, complete your wardrobe with a fierce and stylish jacket to add on top of everything from feminine dresses to edgy leather pants. Try pairing a vintage inspired olive green jacket like this one from ASOS with a pair of jeans and black boots for a chic, easy look. Another good option for a jacket is this denim jacket from ASOS.
