There's a street in Boston called Newbury Street. It's a cozy stretch that runs from Massachusetts Avenue—near Berklee College of Music – down to Arlington Street by The Boston Common. Locals and tourists alike are familiar with it because of its awesome clothing stores, local boutiques and bistros with outdoor seating. Every college student in the area knows Newbury especially well because it's also a great place to take a stroll and window shop with your friends. Some of my favorite stores on Newbury Street are Zara, H&M and Brown Shoes. If you're looking for good dinner recommendations, head to Cafeteria (order the Mac & Cheese) or Tapeo (order the goat cheese with honey).
In Madrid, there is a very similar street that reminds me a lot of Boston. It's called Calle Serrano and it has a variety of high-end retail locations as well as super fancy restaurants and cute cafes. As I walked down Serrano, I thought to myself, “Why don't I come here more often?” This part of the street runs through a neighborhood called Salamanca, which is known for its five-star hotels and upscale apartment buildings.
I was so excited when I spotted this Fashionista rocking a great pair of faux leather leggings. I think girls are scared to wear these because they're not exactly sure how to. I say go for it and try them with a cute pair of high boots and a low blouse, letting just a little bit of the leggings show and making them that much more exciting. Pleather leggings also look great with a nice pair of pumps and an oversized blouse—this is a great outfit for going clubbing and hosting fancy dinner parties.
Ladies, don't be afraid of pleather leggings: they're not as tacky as they sound! And you can dress them up or dress them down as much as you want. I'd even venture to say that these would look great with a cute pair of white Keds. If you want to wear real leather leggings, check out this pair from Michael Kors.
