FASHION FROM ABROAD: Holiday Help-Out

Fashion From Abroad

Blame my current state of mind on the festive light displays popping up all over London and the classic Christmas tunes blaring from my flat 24/7, because I am officially in the holiday spirit. In fact, by the time this article goes live, Thanksgiving in the states will have just come to an end, which means the holidays are officially here. Besides offering an excuse to stuff yourself silly from now until mid-January, when you’ll get around to honoring that pesky New Year’s resolution to diet, the holidays also necessitate copious amounts of shopping, a favorite activity for many Fashionistas. This week’s Fashionista got a head start on her holiday purchasing on Oxford Street whilst sporting an outfit perfect for traipsing through the shops in search of the perfect gift.

To get this Fashionista's look, start with a brightly-colored skater dress, like this polka-dot one from ASOS. Pair it with thick, opaque black tights to keep out the chill, and top the dress with a black motorcycle jacket that settles right at the waistline. Add a pair of textured velvet booties and a chunky black snood scarf to complete the perfect shopping ensemble. While you'll most assuredly get caught up in the spirit of giving, don’t forget to pick up a few things for yourself while you're out—you probably haven’t found that perfect New Year’s Eve party dress anyway.
