Instead of feeling lost in a sea of navy this autumn, try utilizing one of fall’s biggest colors—cobalt!
This color has seen many runways in the past two seasons. A staple at all of these shows is the “Styles” photographer for The New York Times, Bill Cunningham. Many fashion publications claimed throughout the shows that this shade of blue was a direct result of Cunningham’s signature blue coat he dons on many occasions. Throughout the season, the more this blue showed up, it began to be referred to as “Cunningham Blue” (see here).
I happen to have a slight fascination with Mr. Cunningham, and read both the Thursday and Sunday style sections of the NYT every week. Being in the U.K. however, I do not have that luxury, except electronically, which is just not the same. Seeing this Fashionista donning such a vibrant, wholesome version of this famous hue brought memories of a Mr. Cunningham and how excited I am to return to the states and see his beautiful pictures.
This Fashionista used basic black skinny jeans to complement her cobalt sweater and classic flats with a leather messenger tote. Her necklace is a nice use of more dainty jewelry, while still making a statement with the geometric design. This color is expected to be very big this spring too, so load up on your cobalt!
