FASHION FROM ABROAD: Corduroy Comeback

Though the known Parisian standard of dress is minimal and chic, I was pleasantly surprised to find an element of grunge amongst the simplistic style of the French. This rainy day Fashionista had the courage to wear a material often forgotten: corduroy. Regularly associated with the corduroy pant, her oversized button-up blazer offers an interesting variation on this uniquely textured fabric. Apparently already in the know, Levi’s partnered up with Opening Ceremony for the release of a spring 2011 corduroy-based collection. To complete her grunge à la mode is a current favorite, the chunky knit scarf, with its versatile ability to add texture and warmth, it can complement nearly any outfit. The peeking polka dots present an aspect of color, variation and originality. Daring to be different is never a bad thing- and in this Fashionista’s case it means getting noticed for her distinctly unique fashion statement!

Rainy Day Hint: As this Fashionista shows, shearling weatherproof boots are a great choice if you’re opting out of the standard Wellington look.
