FASHION FROM ABROAD: Winter Winds

Fashion From Abroad

It is easy to avoid the outdoors during this time of the year, when the winter weather is in full effect. Whether you have snow headed your way, a lot of rain or dreadful wind — make sure to layer up and be free to roam outside, wherever you want to go!

This Fashionisto was proof that layers can be both fashionable and functionable. I saw him finishing up his finals and taking a break outside, talking to friends. He was dressed in a plaid button-down, a gray peacoat and a thick warm hat. My favorite part about this look was that he chose to wear it with a classic sneaker, like Nikes. This is definitely an easy outfit that any willing Fashionisto could rock.

Looking for an extra layer to add to this? Try buttoning up your shirt the whole way to the top and layering a thick crewneck sweater over it. This is on-trend in men’s fashion and gives a sleek look that will give you even more warmth. More importantly, always be sure to have a warm coat. A peacoat is an excellent choice for any style and is a favorite among European men, but a padded jacket is also a great casual look that is perfect over a layered outfit. Last but not least, find a hat! If your head is warm, your whole body is warm. Buy a classic knit beanie in your favorite color(s).

So Fashionistos, don’t give in to the laziness of winter by hiding indoors or living in those college sweatshirts and sweatpants all season long. Find thick pieces that can be layered over each other, warm accessories and a quality coat that will become your best friend during those windy days.
