FASHION FROM ABROAD: When In Venice

Traveling the world? Don’t know what to wear? I have one simple tip: layers, layers, layers! When studying abroad it is difficult to find the perfect balance of clothing. You also have to make sure you leave enough room for souvenirs from your travels. The ultimate goal is to pack staple items that can mix and match with anything. If you are like me, you hate to repeat outfits but when studying abroad there’s no choice. It’s not as bad as it seems though because with a couple of shirts and a couple of pants you can make enough outfits to last the whole time!

This Fashionista has nailed the perfect outfit for any occasion. When packing she knew how to keep it simple and add some cute jewelry to spice up any outfit. A pair of blue jeans paired with a cotton shirt can be great for the plane, train or even a gondola ride. She decided to stay in the blue family which is only appropriate when in Venice. This peplum cotton shirt is light and small for your suitcase. Sweaters are ideal for traveling especially when the weather can differ throughout your travels. A light grey sweater is versatile for an outfit like this or even a sundress. A pair of slip on Sperry Top-Siders matches this outfit and a multitude of others. They don’t take up a lot of room in your suitcase and are comfortable and cute. They can be worn in daytime or in nighttime and the neutral color makes it easy to match with anything.

To top off the outfit, this Fashionista grabbed her favorite necklace in the same color family with a pop of yellow. It doesn’t blend in nor over power the outfit. A bag bought locally is the perfect accessory. Not only does it complete the outfit but it is a great souvenir. This bag folds up and can lay flat in your luggage or you can even use it as a personal item on your flight. On the way out, don’t forget to grab your favorite pair of sunglasses. These sunglasses are simple and top off any outfit. So pack your bags and get traveling!
