FASHION FROM ABROAD: Tell Me, What’s Your Layer?

Spring has sprung in the lush rolling hills of Chester, England. Where the grass seems to get greener and city goers are starting to shed their winter layers. Even with the change in scenery, layers are still a big necessity here in England. This Fashionista epitomizes this trendy layered look through wearing basic essentials with minimal accessories. With the constantly changing weather it is necessary to be prepared for any change in the weather, rain or shine.

Neutrals have always been a big hit in Europe, and nothing is more neutral than classic black. This black sweat-shirt is perfect to weather the bouts of wind England is notorious for. The gray fringe scarf is a flawless addition to the outfit as it provides a nice color contrast between the monochromatic pieces. The black leggings layered underneath the chunky top, is a subtle nod to rad hourani’s fall 2010 ready-to-wear collection. Coupled together they provide enough warmth for when the rain subsides, and the English weather is still a bit chilly.

Chester, England is about an hour out of Manchester. It is filled with lots of hills, and has central access to trains to different countries. Helping to provide an easy way to access all the popular coffee shops, pubs, and travels around Europe. This Fashionista wanted to be comfortable, yet still stylish when it comes to footwear. Her black TOMS boots provide enough of a heel, yet are incredibly comfortable to walk all over the city, from the University of Chester to the downtown area.

With neutrals and functional accessories this Fashionista is ready to take on unpredictable weather of England in casual, comfortable style.
