The Christmas lights are up, and Florence finally feels and looks like winter. Finally the natives of Florence have traded in their leather jackets for warmer outwear, scarves and hats. The colder temperatures that I have been waiting for since October are finally here. My favorite part about the holiday season is the fun and endless amounts of winter accessories one can wear. Rather than wearing all black everything, I love when I see people on the streets showcasing their individuality with funky winter apparel.
Because the weather in Florence has not yet reached sub-zero temperatures, students are able to wear lighter and much cuter winter coats. A much needed change compared to the boring black ankle length down coats Syracuse students normally sport. I spotted this Fashionista wearing an adorable navy blue peacoat that would never fly in Syracuse, NY, but is absolutely perfect for a Florentine December.
Its length makes it versatile and wearable during the day and at night. It hits just right above the knee making it suitable for jeans like this Fashionista’s outfit or for a less casual outfit with a dress and tights. Its big pockets are great for keeping hands nice and toasty, as well. Nothing is worse than when your whole body is warm except for your hands.
This Fashionista’s cream wool sweater complements both her peacoat and her red silk scarf. In addition, the warm red colors in this Fashionista’s scarf are flattering to her skin tone and her dark brown hair. I am a huge fan — nothing says the holiday season like a deep red!
All in all, everything about this Fashionista’s outfit embodies winter Florentine chic. Bellissima!
