Lately in Florence, Italy the weather has been particularly unpredictable. Some days it’s cold and others it’s rainy, but on the official first day of spring the warm air and sun were in full effect. When I spotted this Fashionista outside of the Duomo, her outfit pleasantly surprised me. She showed off her adorable style in the warm weather compared to some of the locals still wearing fall coats and boots while sweating in the heat. I admired her boldness and the trend-setting outfit she was embracing.
This black and white tribal printed maxi dress is the perfect fit for a spring break getaway. Printed maxi dresses and skirts are staple items that any student traveling abroad should keep in their suitcase. They can be the comfiest and cutest addition to any casual shirt or cropped top. The color scheme of black, white and gold she is dotting isn’t necessarily the pastel color palate we are used to for spring, however it definitely works here. This outfit is a good option for someone who isn’t ready for all the colors springtime has to offer, but still wants something different from a simple jeans and flats look. Forever 21 has many different shades and colors available. You can definitely find one that fits you’re color and print preferences for any occasion.
My favorite part about her look was the consistency of the exotic feel from the tribal print that was also used in her cheetah headband. The wrap headband she is wearing is a fun example of the new trend that redefines the term animal print. Instead of the traditional animal spots, designers are now using a full animal graphics to create a funky print.
After the spring break fever dies down and you are back at school, you can wear this same outfit when transitioning back to reality. Try adding little booties and a leather or jean jacket. If you are feeling ready to add some color, try a colorful cardigan or scarf.
