Fashion From Abroad

There is something special about staple wardrobe items. They may not be flashy or particularly exciting but when put together, they can be just as chic as anything else. Both Fashionistas/os can never have too many basic cardigans, minimally printed tees or denim. These items can be used all year round when dressed with seasonal pieces.

This Fashionista’s outfit is incredibly simple, and yet you can still tell she is stylish from her menswear inspired ensemble. The weather in the Netherlands is so unpredictable that it can go from sunny to pouring rain in a matter of minutes so you need to be ready for anything. Her oversized boyfriend cardigan is always in style for every season and is easy to throw on once the rain approaches. A striped tee always gives a chic and yet casual, a look that many European women thrive on. Her dark high-waisted jeans give a great contrast to her long sweater by making her legs look even longer. The perfect pair of black oxfords gives her outfit a classic twist. Lastly, her accessories such as her watch and leather bucket bag add the perfect finishing touch on the dark, cool tones in her outfit.

Throughout Europe, especially in Central Europe (Netherlands, France, Germany etc.), the women have a much more minimalist style than compared to those in the States. The colors of their outfits tend to stay on a more neutral color palette and have simpler shapes. When it comes to beauty, Europeans go for the more natural look and wear much less make up. Despite their uncomplicated style, they have a certain something that makes their minimal style so chic. This way of dressing shows that sometimes less is more.
