It’s pretty obvious that the hippie, flower child look is quite popular this summer. We can partially thank Topshop’s partnership with Kate Bosworth as well as other high street giants for releasing their own festival style lines, but we can also thank the versatility of all the super adorable accessories that are must-haves when it comes to festival style.
A complete festival style outfit can be overwhelming, especially to the beginner Fashionista, but if you steal some tips from this Fashionista, you’ll see it’s quite simple to ease into the flower-power look. The key is accessories. Usually you can start off with pieces you already own and try wearing them in different ways. When it comes to jewelry, layer it on. This Fashionsta mix and matched all sorts of rings from Lucky Brand, Forever 21 and Primark. For a more interesting look, mix thick and thin rings as well as detailed rings. One of my personal favorite new trends is the midi ring, or a ring that rests in between the first and second joints of your finger.
Another go-to festival style accessory is a headband. This Fashionista chose a beaded Aztec-inspired headband from Primark for her look. Headbands can be made out of anything from cloth to beads to hemp. Quick tip: always try a headband on before you buy it to make sure it is stretchy enough for your head because there is nothing worse that wearing a too tight headband all day long.
If you choose to go all out on your accessories, keep the rest of your look simple with classic jean shorts and a tank. This Fashionista chose a blue tank with a beautiful back cut-out from Dry Goods and a pair of white jean shorts. White denim always looks great and it goes with every color!
