This week, I had the amazing opportunity to take my travels further and hop on a plane to the ever-charming town of London. Having become accustomed to the perpetual heat of Seville in the spring, I found myself a little bit underprepared for the mid-morning London chill, where jackets and scarves are still in high demand. Thankfully for me, things warmed up a tad by the afternoon, and even Londoners seemed to take notice.
Days without rain in London are often few and far between, so when the sun does peek out from the omnipresent clouds, London born Fashionistas run with the chance to ditch heavy boots and jackets and opt for lighter options. With the temperatures just reaching mid 60s, Londoners were already donning sandals and sundresses–because who knows when their next chance might be.
I spotted this university student on the walk to her dining hall looking eager for spring. Sick of the boots she’s been stuck in all winter, she opted for a pair of black flip flops to show off a new pedicure. She keeps it classy in the front with a hint of party in the back in a beige sweater with slashed back detailing, showing just the right amount of skin.
Sweaters with open back details have been a huge trend popping up in 2014, and are a great way to show a hint of skin without baring it all this spring. Some of my recent favorites include this grungy take by TOBI, and this classic white option by HauteDemand.com. To keep your look feeling fresh and new, try mixing your slashed back sweater in with other great spring essentials by throwing one on top of your favorite sundress or maxi skirt.
